Position Available: MEI Supervisor/Process Engineer
Duties:
Provide Engineering support to Manufacturing and Quality Control teams to exceed Company’s Quality Standards and productivity efficiency. Collaborates with company’s R&D, Product Development and Manufacturing team to introduce new products into manufacturing. Leads and manage all aspects of company’s final manufacturing stage. Responsible for working with all different areas to reach productivity goals maximizing efficiency of available equipment and human resources. Implement continuous improvement philosophy’s while leading planning and coordinating manufacturing operation. Evaluate, record and communicate approval of new raw materials or properly request changes if necessary. Contribute to new product introduction by coordinating creation of programs on High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery and fixtures required for high mass manufacturing production.
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Operate 3D highly accurate dimensional measuring machine to scan and digitalize multipoint data, to create truly representation of aluminum eyewear.
- Develop programs for High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery with the multipoint data obtained from CMM, needed to manufacture polycarbonate lenses.
- Assist and train operator to identify any dimension out of tolerance by using the CMM or optical sensor both in polycarbonate lenses and aluminum frames.
High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery (CNC Programing)
- Adjust tools offsets on programs to calibrate High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery, due to wear of tooling or tool replace.
- Adjust tools offset on programs to calibrate High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery, due to variation in size of aluminum frames.
- Create profiles for new products, establish and validate them before release them to manufacturing department.
Continuous Improvement
- Spearhead continuous improvement projects while working closely with other departments to promote the concept of Kaizen among other employees.
- Projects focus on minimizing process cycle times, improving ergonomics for operators and modifying existing product features for ease of assembly.
- Investigate new technologies and present recommendations to higher management.
R&D collaboration
- Document reviewing of new raw materials (polycarbonate lenses), to assure is in compliance with one or all of the next eyewear standards: ANSI Z80.3, ANSI Z87.1 and/or MIL-PRF-32432A.
- Document reviewing of final product is in compliance with one or all of the next eyewear standards: ANSI Z80.3, ANSI Z87.1 and/or MIL-PRF-32432A.
- Create and distribute detailed reports that support raw material (polycarbonate lenses) is compliant or noncompliant with eyewear standards (ANSI Z80.3, ANSI Z87.1, MIL-PRF-32432A)
- Communicate detailed reviewing documents of raw materials to R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing Team, and vendors.
- Create, validate and release High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery programs needed to manufacture polycarbonate lenses.
- Create holding fixtures for High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery, needed to manufacture polycarbonate lenses.
Lead and manage
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments of work activities, based on product urgency, raw materials availability, human resources and equipment availability.
- Monitors production process flow, and coordinate with other departments to ensure weekly production goals are met.
- Train High-Speed Electronic Controlled NC Machinery operators as required.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field and 5 years experience.
Other Special Skills or Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft programs
- Proficient in calculus Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
- Computer aided design CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)
- Computer aided manufacturing CAM software (Mastercam, CAM Works, MEI Software, or similar)
